June 9th, 2025 MEDIA RELEASE ‘Sweeter-Man’ Appears in Court Charged with Murder A Mt. Hope man has appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Donny Dick, which occurred on July 17th, 2024. JAFARI FERNANDEZ, aka ‘Sweeter-Man’, 20, was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master Rehanna Hosein, on June 4th, 2025. The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for November 24th, 2025. Dick, 44, was found dead on July 17th, 2024, at Upper Irving Street, Petit Bourg, San Juan. One male suspect was arrested on May 28th, 2025, in the San Juan district by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force. Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Victor, W/Insp. Sylvester, Sgts. Ramoutar and Radhaykissoon and Cpl Subiah, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two. Fernandez was charged by WPC Billy, also of HBI Region Two, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday 3rd June, 2025.
