Two firearms and quantities of ammunition and narcotics were seized by officers during anti-crime exercises conducted in the North Eastern and Central Divisions this weekend. In the first exercise, Task Force officers conducted an exercise in the San Juan district between 5 pm and 8 pm, on Sunday 8th June, 2025. During the exercise, the officers proceeded to an abandoned structure off Ramkissoon Trace, where they found one Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition. Meanwhile, in the Central Division officers conducted searches in the Couva, Freeport and St. Helena districts yesterday, resulting in the discovery of one 12-gauge shotgun and four cartridges, 68 live rounds of 5.56 ammunition and quantities of cannabis and cocaine. Investigations are ongoing into all of the above finds.
