While en route, he was intercepted and shot dead by members of a state-backed death squad in the Cheel area, before reaching the camp. This incident is part of a wider and ongoing pattern of extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. In Awaran, multiple similar cases have been reported where Baloch civilians are summoned to military campsโ€”only to be found dead shortly afterward. In other instances, state-backed death squads target them en route or after release, reinforcing a climate of fear and impunity across the region. #stopbalochgenocide
