Addressing the Session on “BRICS Parliaments United for the Reform of the Multilateral Peace and Security Architecture” in Brasília, emphasized that global peace discussions must address the threat of terrorism. The recent attack in Jammu & Kashmir, claiming 26 innocent lives, was a tragic reminder of this ongoing challenge. Highlighted that India’s measured and targeted response under #operationsindoor demonstrated our zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, targeting key terrorist infrastructure with the aim of protecting our citizens. Stressed that we must work together to stop the financial support of terrorist organizations, share intelligence information, prevent the misuse of modern technologies, and coordinate in investigation and judicial processes.
Also called for urgent reforms in the United Nations Security Council to reflect today’s global realities, including permanent representation of countries from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Urged that BRICS must unite to push for timely reforms in key global institutions to ensure a just and balanced world order. Emphasised that together, we must build a more peaceful and equitable global future.
