On June 8, 2025, detectives from CID Homicide in Bulawayo received information linking Tshuma to the crime and subsequently arrested him at a house in Cowdray Park. The arrest led to the recovery of several items, including a Samsung M13 cellphone believed to have been purchased with the stolen money, a Toyota Mark X (registration numbers AFO 6880 and AFA 1529), a driller, rivet gun, and various clothes matching those worn by one of the suspects at the crime scene, as captured on CCTV. However, six other suspects remain at large: Thethelani Ndlovu, Esau Mazarura, Bhekinkosi Tshuma, Mpiloenhle Ndlovu, Xolani Tshuma, Gugulethu Khumalo, and Reason Moyo alias Tsorinso.
