Islamabad, 12 June 2025 — In a major step toward climate action and sustainable development, the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC) has granted approval for a landmark carbon credit initiative titled “The Safe Drinking Water Programme in Punjab, Pakistan”. This community-based project, led by the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority (PSPA) in collaboration with ATR Inc. of the Republic of Korea, marks Pakistan’s third-ever approval under the Article 6.2 framework of the Paris Agreement. The decision was formalized during a high-level meeting chaired by the Secretary MoCC&EC, with senior representatives from PSPA and ATR Inc. in attendance. Led by Punjab Saaf Pani Authority in partnership with ATR Inc.
