*All Systems Go for the 98th Comrades Marathon* The City of eThekwini is ready to welcome thousands of runners and spectators as we co-host the 98th Comrades Marathon this Sunday, 8 June 2025. This year’s “Ultimate Human Race” will conclude at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium’s People’s Park. *Durban Metro Police Service* officers are on high alert and fully deployed along the entire route from Cato Ridge to Masabalala Yengwa Avenue, ensuring the safety of all participants. Colonel Boysie Zungu, our Metro Police Spokesperson, confirmed that comprehensive road, traffic, and safety measures are in place: “The increased number of runners has encouraged us to strengthen police visibility throughout the route to ensure the safety of runners and spectators.” We urge all residents and motorists to be patient, obey traffic officers, and support the athletes with pride and positivity.
