ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH PUBLIC NOTICE 9 JUNE 2025 *INTERRUPTION OF WATER SUPPLY IN PINETOWN AND SURROUNDING AREAS* The Municipality notifies consumers of the planned interruption of water supply in Pinetown and surrounding areas. The interruption is due to electrical maintenance work to be undertaken at a substation inside the Durban Heights Water Treatment Works on *Tuesday, 10 June from 12pm to 8pm.* Power will be isolated to Pinetown South, to allow the City’s Electricity Unit to replace a faulty unit at a substation inside the Durban Heights Water Treatment Works. During this period, there will be no pumping of water supply to the MT Moriah Reservoir in Pinetown. Endeavors have been made to top up affected reservoirs; however, water availability is dependent on water usage. Consumers who may still have water during this time are urged to use it sparingly. Pumping from the plant is expected to resume when maintenance work has been completed. The process of reservoir recovery will commence thereafter. *Affected areas include:* Pinetown CBD, Dawncliff High Zone, Atholl Heights, Cowies Hill, Westville North, Mosley Park, New Germany, Berkshire, Clermont, Caversham, Farningham Ridge, Ashley, Marianhill, Tshelimnyama, Nazareth, Mpola, Nagina, Thornwood, Birchwood, Westmead, Chiltern Hills, and Reservoir Hills.
