Forty Days Of Priesthood
Day 14/40
Oros: The Place of Encounters
And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12
What a man!
What a verse!
What an Expression!
What an Experience!
Think about it on this wise. One morning Jesus ate breakfast, then told his friends [the Apostles], I will be back a bit later. He went into the mountain [oros: a place of divine interaction, spiritual truths, revelation and supernatural encounters]. Whilst in that place He got carried away by the interaction taking place with God; time went by, He probably didn’t notice it, He entered into a proskateréō that lasted till the breaking of day.
And the Bible records: “…He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.”
Oh what a man he was!
In my humble opinion one of the reasons why the place of prayer isn’t easy to enter and abide by is the lack/absence of the conviction of encounters. Infact God wants you to become encounter conscious.
The mystery of the tarrying power/grace is in encounters of the God-kind.
Encounters destroy doubt.
Encounters are power points.
Encounters authentic your ministry.
Encounters keep you on your knees.
Encounters are sources of information.
Encounters bring relevance to your ministry.
Encounters bridges the supernatural with the natural.
A detailed exegetical mapping of the text will show you that soon after this “oros” experience, Jesus named the twelve. Could it be possible that He saw in an open vision what would become of the twelve that He chose? What could be the odds that you’re presently struggling to make decisions because an Encounter is missing?
Prayer Point:
Lord give me the grace to stay in prayer!
Lord capacitate my soul to press into you
