📌 CSIR-IIP : Basic Skill Development Programme on Analysis with Elemental, Microscopic and Thermo-Gravimetric Tools, 16-27 June 2025, CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), Dehradun-248005, Uttarakhand CSIR-IIP has state-of-the-art R&D facilities, experienced and qualified staff and the institute maintains its leading position in conducting training programs for the personnel from refining, petrochemical, automotive, power and related user industry. More than 10,000 personnel from India and abroad have been trained. CSIR-IIP conducts skill development programs under ‘CSIR Integrated Skill Initiatives(ISI) applications are invited from eligible participants for Basic Skill Development Training Program on Analysis with Elemental, Microscopic and Thermo-gravimetric tools. Our Analytical Sciences Division is equipped with range of analytical instruments and our Scientists having vast knowledge and Working Experience. The participants will acquire a broad working knowledge of various Elemental, Microscopic and Thermo-gravimetric analytical techniques (AAS, ICP-OES, SEM/ TEM, TGA/DSC & Powder XRD). Objectives: Training is aimed at providing in depth knowledge and hands on experience on AAS, ICP-OES, SEM/ TEM, TGA/DSC & XRD techniques to those new to the R&D institute/industry or wish to develop their career further in the relevant QA/ QC area with more strengthened analytical approach. After Successful Completion: With exposure to advanced analytical instrumental facilities backed by theoretical clarity, a person will be able to develop a precise evaluation approach for research and development activities/quality compliances besides running routine analytical tests depending upon individual’s ability and dedication in learning the skill. Contents: • Basics of analytical chemistry • Qualitative and quantitative analysis : Pre-requisites • Analytical approaches using Elemental, Microscopic and Thermo-gravimetric and XRD technique • Theory, Instrumentation & analysis using a) AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy), ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy) b) SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy ) / TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) c ) TGA (Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis /DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) d) Powder XRD (Powder X-ray Diffraction) • Sample Preparation & Data Interpretation Who should join: Resident Indian having the desire to excel in the area of R&D/ Quality Control OR wants to acquire broad knowledge of testing and evaluation for competitive examinations. Having Post graduation in Chemical Sciences (M.Sc.) / M.Pharm. Age : 20-40 years. Salient Features of the Programme: 1. Theory : Practical :: 20 : 80 2. Interactive sessions for in-depth knowledge sharing. 3. Evaluation of trainees will consist of both Theory & Practical components. 4. Certificates will be awarded on successful completion of the training. 5. Exposure to R&D labs Course Fee: A non-refundable course fee of ₹ 4,000 (Rupees Four Thousand only) per person is applicable for students/unemployed candidates, and ₹ 20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) for sponsored candidates. The SC/ST/EWS candidate will get 25% discount in the above fee structure. Course Fee shall be paid through electronic mode after confirmation only.
