Hyderabad, June, 8, 2025: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the book launch event of “Prajala Kathe Na Aatmakaatha” (“The People’s Story is My Autobiography”), authored by Bandaru Dattatreya.
“Though the regions may be different, the Telugu people are one. The aim is to make the Telugu community number one in the world. The architect of India’s economic reforms, P.V. Narasimha Rao, was born on this land. Hearing the name ‘Shilpakala Vedika’ brings back old memories. When we thought about how to elevate the Telugu community, we began with the development of Hyderabad through the Hi-Tech City. With then Prime Minister Vajpayee’s support, we launched Hi-Tech City and prioritized IT and technology. During that time, we didn't want to forget our heritage. I approached Chennareddy to request this land, and he immediately granted it. We developed both Shilpakala Vedika and Shilparamam.
On one side was Hi-Tech City, on the other IT companies, and in the middle, we established Shilpakala Vedika and Shilparamam. When Bill Clinton visited, we also conceptualized Cyberabad alongside Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The real joy in politics is when our good deeds yield results for the people. Prime Minister Modi has taken the responsibility of moving the country forward. We must take responsibility for taking the Telugu community forward,” said CM Chandrababu Naidu.
He was speaking as a guest at the book launch of "Prajala Kathe Na Aatmakaatha”, authored by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. The CM praised the book, saying it would serve as an inspiration for future generations.
**Dattanna – A Man Without Enemies**
“Dattatreya is the embodiment of a gentleman – he has no enemies. In the Telugu states, when we speak of someone with no enemies, it’s Dattanna. His rise from a grassroots worker to a national leader is exemplary. I’m happy to attend this book launch event. Seeing all of you here today fills me with joy I haven’t felt in years. It brings back memories from 40 years ago. From the days of the Emergency to the Diviseema cyclone, Dattatreya has served the people. From an ordinary RSS swayamsevak to high-ranking roles, his life has seen struggles, movements, and many battles.
Dattatreya represents Hindutva in name, but his religion is Indianism, his aim is public welfare, his path is secularism, and he upholds religious harmony,” said CM Chandrababu.
**Brought Unity through Alai-Balai**
“Every year, Dattatreya organizes the Alai-Balai event, bringing together leaders from all political parties onto one platform. He made it a symbol of unity. He has no enemies. In the Telugu states, if someone stands for ideal political life, it’s Bandaru Dattatreya. He once wrote, ‘I never imagined I would witness nature's fury wiping out lakhs of lives in a single night, or that I would have to spend weeks removing dead bodies and quenching the thirst of survivors.’ These lines from his autobiography reflect the kind of service he has rendered.”
**Brand Ambassador for Writing Letters**
“Dattatreya has served the BJP as a worker, MLA, MP, Union Minister, and as Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Whether in power or not, he remained dedicated to the party. He possesses the rare quality of being able to connect with leaders of all parties. Even in high positions, he always worked like a regular party worker. During the Emergency, he was jailed for defending democracy. Prime Minister Modi, in his message for the book, praised Dattatreya's fight during those days.
Dattatreya has spent 65 years in public service. He used to write letters to governments and chief ministers about public issues. He is the brand ambassador of letter writing. Even I can’t remember how many letters he wrote to me during my term as CM,” said Chandrababu.
**Dattatreya – Added Shine to Every Position**
Dattatreya became an MP for the first time in 1991. In 1996, he became the BJP's state president in Andhra Pradesh. He served in this role in 1999, 2002, 2003, and 2014. He was BJP national secretary in 2004, national vice president in 2013, a member of the Railway Standing Committee, and chairman of the OBC Welfare Committee. He served as Governor of Himachal Pradesh and has been Governor of Haryana since 2021. His life and vision are an inspiration to future generations.
“To speak meaningfully, one must have character. To deliver a message boldly, one must have a history. Dattatreya has both. He worked across both North and South India, deeply connecting with the people.”
