Live Facial Recognition cameras were back in ILFORD this week. During the operation, officers arrested 8 people who were wanted for various offences. Live Facial Recognition Technology is used in order to be more precise in how local officers tackle crime and identify wanted offenders. Dave Holgate, Acting Chief Inspector for Neighbourhoods, Redbridge, said “We are committed to making Redbridge safer, using data and technology to target those offenders that pose a risk to our communities”.
