He didn't bother to join us on the queue. He drove straight to the dispensing point and told the station manager that he was a friend of the owner of the station and that he must be attended to immediately. The manager obliged. Many people saw it as unfair. Because of the reactions of those who have been held in the queue under the scorching sun, the manager decided to shut the generator and announced that the petrol has finished. He did that to disperse everyone in order to enable him to sell to his own man. The beneficiary of the wickedness saw it as a gesture of favour while others saw it as evil. The question is: if you were the "happy guy," who was 'favoured' at the petrol station on account of having his own person in charge, would you have acted the same way? Today's believers don't seem to call a spade a spade. They call bribe a kind of gift, while immorality with the opposite sex is considered as weakness. No matter how you may excuse any shade of evil, it has no other name. It is still evil. The endemic oppression and corrosive greed have brought this nation to its knees. If we expect a better nation, we must stop pretending and professing to be patriotic. Rather, we must do things right. Nobody is bigger than the law. Equity is unequivocal in building a virile nation. Religious decorations haven't made this nation any better. It is time to rethink our nationhood and return to righteous patterns.
