Had the opportunity to visit the prestigious ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR) in Coorg (Karnataka). During the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture meeting chaired by Hon. Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi (Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha & former Chief Minister of Punjab) various initiatives related to research on spice crops, technology-enhanced farming, and improving farmers’ income were discussed. In this meeting, direct interactions with ICAR scientists provided insights into their experimental research. Considering the innovations, demonstrations, and productivity improvement measures in the spice sector, such institutions play a significant role in Indian agriculture.
