If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised. *EXPOSITION* True love cannot be extinguished. The greatest floods: trials, pressures, temptations cannot put it out. It burns with a divine flame. Human wealth, status, or effort cannot buy or replace it. This verse captures the indestructible and priceless nature of love, especially the kind that comes from God. God’s love for you is like this: it survives storms, it thrives in hardship, and it remains priceless. No external circumstance can put it out, and nothing you can offer would ever be enough to earn it. It’s a gift. Once it’s in your heart, it becomes a fire that fuels purpose, purity, and passion.
