🎉 It was all fun and flair at Collen Bawn Primary School in Gwanda on 5 June 2025, as the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education marked the 10th Africa Day of School Feeding! 🇿🇼🍽️
Pupils celebrated through vibrant cultural performances and impressive displays of indigenous crops and traditional dishes. 🌽🍠🌿
✨ HarvestPlus proudly joined the event, showcasing biofortified crops—Vitamin A maize, Iron beans, cowpeas, and vitamin A orange sweet potatoes—that attracted strong interest.
The commemorations, held under the theme “A Decade of Nourishment: Celebrating the Past, Securing a Just Future,” emphasized the critical role of nutrition in education.
💬 “We aim to ensure that school learners have good food and a balanced diet,” said the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Mr. Torerayi Moyo.
👏 The Chief Director for the Department of Learner Welfare, Psychological Services and Special Needs Education, Mrs. Maisiri, thanked all partners, including HarvestPlus, for supporting nutritious school meals through contributions of nutrient-dense seeds and foods.
