Sheikh ibn 'Uthaymīn رحمه الله stated: ‏الإنْسان عِند قِراءة القُرآن يُبتَلَى بأمريْن: ‎"The person is tested with two matters when he reads the Qurān:‏ ➀ إمّا الكَسَل وعدَم الاسْتِمرار فيه ‎1. Either laziness and not being persistent in reading. ➁ وإمّا عدَم التّدبّر 2. Or not contemplating (over the meaning). ‏فإذا استعذتَ بالله مِن الشّيطان الرّجيم؛ So if you seek refuge in Allāh from the cursed Shaytān, حَماكَ الله منه، Allāh will protect you from him, ووُفِّقتَ للاسْتِمرارِ في القِراءة والتّدبُّر. and you will be granted success to continue reading and contemplating (over the Qur’ān.)” ‎[شرح بلوغ المرام (٥٠/٢)]
