*(not so) Hard Feelings Club* Building on what delightfully unfolded last time, we’re calling out for another round of dance! Not the choreographed or prepared - the open, expressive, and wild in its freest form. A dance floor celebration tracing the arc of dance music. Doing the round from the earliest examples of recorded sound, to sweat-soaked 80s disco and acid house, the mecha-heartbeat of new beat, early techno, and the bass-heavy language of the now. No steps to follow, no form to mirror— only freeform motion. As it also happens to be in the days leading up to world music day, we want to celebrate not just music, but what it does to us—how it moves us, communicates to us, binds us. Throughout the times, especially ones of upheaval and uncertainty, people have turned to music and dance—not for escape, but for strength. These forms have carried stories, held together, and offered a shared pulse when words failed. They remind us we’re not alone. For the night, Zoukak’s space will be reinterpreted as a maze of light and sound, and a temporary world within. We’re going full circle for the night with Junaid and Charbel taking over the bar. With a keen ear for the uncanny, june’s diggings have led to key mixes and recordings, breaking patterned motion and eliciting a heightened sense of frequency. His interest in sound synthesis and academic background have also led to endeavors in composing for film and theater as well as working on electro-acoustic installations. He co-founded Frequent Defect in 2016 and works also under his aliases “june as” and “junior program”. He regularly collaborates with Jad Atoui, Try Harder and NÂR, as well as having performed live with the likes of the legendary Yo-yo Ma and renowned artists like Sharif Sehnaoui, Jawad Nawfal (Munma) and Ziad Moukarzel among others.
