Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) places significant emphasis on the coverage and quality of statistics released in the country. These statistics are derived from administrative sources, surveys and censuses conducted by both the Central and State Governments, as well as from non-official sources and studies. The surveys conducted by the Ministry are designed using scientific sampling methods, and field data is collected by dedicated and trained staff. The Ministry compiles datasets based on current information, applying standard statistical techniques along with rigorous scrutiny and supervision.
