The National Accounts Division of the National Statistics Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), will be conducting the Annual Joint Discussion with the officers of the DES of the fourth group of 9 States/UTs on Pre-Comparable Estimates of State Domestic Product (SDP) for the years 2022–23 and 2023–24 from 19th to 21st May, 2025 at Khurshid Lal Bhawan, MoSPI, New Delhi. Approximately 50 participants are expected to attend from 09 States/UTs namely Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Puducherry, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Tripura.

NSO, MoSPI has released the ‘National Accounts Statistics – 2025’ publication, a comprehensive source of data on the national income, production, and expenditure aggregates of the Indian economy. The publication offers more granular view of the national accounts, through structured data statements and serves as a critical statistical input for policymakers, researchers, analysts, and stakeholders in understanding and evaluating the performance and structural changes in the Indian economy. This publication follows the First Revised Estimates of GDP for the FY 2023–24 and Final Estimates for FY 2022-23, which were released in February 2025, providing headline macroeconomic indicators. As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of National Sample Survey (NSS) activities, the National Statistics Office (NSO), Regional Office, Ajmer, organized a community discussion at Heritage Village Devmali, Ajmer in Rajasthan. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of statistical surveys, highlight the role of data in development planning, and encourage active community participation. The discussion saw enthusiastic participation from NSO officials, representatives from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), Government of Rajasthan, Gram Panchayat Devmali, Block Development Office, local police personnel, and around 200 villagers—including 100 women. Local residents actively shared their insights and feedback, adding depth and relevance to the discussion.

Franchise outlets play a crucial role in expanding business reach, generating employment, and promoting entrepreneurship by allowing individuals to operate under an established brand with proven business models. According to the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2023–24, conducted by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), the estimated number of establishments operating as franchisee outlets in India stands at 132,471. The ASUSE 2023–24 highlights a notable expansion in the unincorporated non-agricultural sector, underscoring the growing role of franchising in India's economy. As part of the 75th anniversary of the National Sample Survey (NSS), a community awareness meeting was recently held in Somandurai village, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. With support from village officials and the Block Development Office, around 50 local residents participated. As part of the celebrations, 50 trees were planted in the village, with active participation from the local community. Village officials and residents expressed their gratitude and pledged to take care of the saplings.

National Statistics Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), has released the Monthly Bulletin – Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), April 2025. The monthly estimates of Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR), Worker Population Ratio (WPR), and Unemployment Rate (UR) at the all-India level, based on the Current Weekly Status (CWS), disaggregated by gender, sector, and broad age group. The April 2025 bulletin marks the first release in this series.
