Polythene bags, especially those made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), can leach chemicals into food especially when exposed to heat. These chemicals, like phthalates, can be harmful to humans, especially young infants and pregnant women. The use of Polythene bags (*"Kavera"*) is another growing public health concern.
