As reported by ZBC News, voters braved the cold to exercise their democratic right across the 67 polling stations distributed over 12 wards. These wards span the administrative districts of Umzingwane and Insiza. The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) organised the by-election to fill the vacant National Assembly seat. Matabeleland South Provincial Elections Officer, Rejoice Mthombeni, confirmed that all polling stations opened on time and reported a peaceful and orderly start to the voting process. Four candidates are contesting the seat: Delani Moyo of ZANU PF, Thabani Mlotshwa of ZAPU, independent candidate Leslie Dube, and Mbongeni Moyo representing the Zimbabwe National Revival Party (ZNRP). Voting is also underway in the Gutu East National Assembly constituency, where polling stations opened at 7 AM across all 10 wards. Gutu East Constituency Elections Officer, Enerst Mukwidzwa, reported that all 56 polling stations were operational on time and that the process was proceeding without incident. Three candidates are in the race for the Gutu East seat: Zvarevashe Masvingise of ZANU PF, independent candidate Gift Gonese, and Zivanai Nzvenga of the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) party.
