A subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), the chemical tanker operator MOL Chemical Tankers, took delivery of the new LNG dual-fueled vessel Fairchem Pinnacle on 9th June. The delivery of this vessel marks the fourth such delivery of LNG dual-fueled stainless steel vessels delivered by the Japanese shipbuilder Fukuoka Shipbuilding.
The Fairchem Pinnacle is a Marshall Islands-flagged chemical tanker. It has a length of 158 metres, a beam of 27 metres, and a gross tonnage of 16,800. The vessel can use LNG as a fuel, leading to a reduction of 25% in emissions compared to similar vessels that operate on traditional fuel.
The vessel is the fourth in its series to be delivered by Fukuoka Shipbuilding, the first being the Fairchem Pathfinder, which was delivered in May 2024, the second being the Fairchem Pioneer, delivered in July 2024, and the third being the Fairchem Prestige, delivered in November 2024.
