12/06/2025, 𝓼𝓮𝓪𝓯𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓻'𝓼 𝓾𝓹𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓮 On 10th June, the Ro-Ro cargo vessel Canarias Express experienced engine failure and drifted unsteered for several hours between the Canary Islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, Spain. No injuries or pollution were reported in the incident. The vessel became stranded at approximately 6:50 AM local time, a few miles north of Isla de Lobos. The Spanish Maritime Safety Agency's SAR vessel Guardamar Polimnia arrived on the scene around 8:50 AM, preventing the Canarias Express from running aground amid strong local currents. Subsequently, tugboat VB Achaman arrived to tow the distressed vessel. After five hours of towing, the vessel arrived safely at Arrecife port, Spain.
