The Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs of the OIC Meets with the Director-General of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) Within the framework of his participation in the EU Humanitarian Forum taking place in Brussels, Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Maciej Popowski, Director-General of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), on 19 May 2025, in the presence of their respective accompanying delegations. They reviewed the bilateral cooperation between the OIC and the EU in the humanitarian domain and explored new avenues of cooperation. Both sides also exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in some OIC countries and discussed the ways and means to better support those countries.
