The Government of Malawi has announced the release of the final investigative report into the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima and eight others on June 10, 2024. According to a statement from the Minister of Information and Digitalisation, Moses Kunkuyu, the report was compiled and released by Germany’s Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU). The crash occurred at Nthungwa in Nkhatabay District. The government further stated that BFU officials held a meeting on Saturday in Lilongwe with families of the nine victims to brief them on the findings of the report. Details to follow.
