The World Bank Managing Director, Anna Bjerde, visited the Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF), a landmark initiative rebuilding 2.1 million houses in the aftermath of the 2022 floods. The World Bank is a key partner in this transformative initiative, supporting climate-resilient housing and inclusive community recovery across Sindh. During her visit, Ms. Bjerde met with beneficiaries, toured the newly constructed homes, engaged with Village Reconstruction Committee, and awarded land titles to women. She expressed her satisfaction and was deeply impressed by the visible impact on the ground particularly the way women have been placed at the center of this initiative, a vision strongly championed by the Government of Sindh.
