LNG terminals in the EU will be banned from serving Russian customers — Reuters. According to an internal European Commission document cited by the agency, the restriction may come into force on January 1, 2026. The deadline for ending services at LNG terminals under long-term contracts with Russian customers is set for December 31, 2027. The EU will also require European companies to disclose information about purchases of Russian gas and is preparing measures to completely ban such imports by the end of 2027. Companies will have to provide “documentation on the origin of imported gas,” and new deals with Russian exporters could be banned by the end of this year.
