Now hiring! Operational Excellence Supervisor - Nairobi Our client is a leading manufacturer of energy solutions in the East Africa region. They have retained our services to support the hiring process for an Operational Excellence Supervisor. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operational Excellence Supervisor is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing plant using Kaizen principles. This role facilitates cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements, and foster a culture of operational excellence and employee engagement. Key Responsibilities: Lead Kaizen Events: Plan, organize, and facilitate Kaizen workshops (e.g., 6s, SMED, Value Stream Mapping) to improve productivity, quality, and safety. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for waste reduction, cost savings, and process optimization across production lines. Training & Coaching: Train employees at all levels on Lean tools and Kaizen methodologies; mentor teams on sustaining improvements. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze performance data (KPIs, downtime, cycle times) to support improvement initiatives. Standard Work: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and visual management tools. Collaboration: Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure alignment and sustainability of improvements. Reporting: Document Kaizen activities, track progress, and report results to management. Key Qualifications: Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field. Experience: 2–5 years in a manufacturing environment with hands-on experience in Lean/Kaizen implementation. Certifications: Kaizen Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt preferred. Strong facilitation and communication skills. Proficiency in Lean tools (6s, Root Cause Analysis, PDCA, Kanban, etc.) Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities. Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
