/FOOD FORTIFICATION TRAINING- PUBLIC HEALTH
Food Fortification is the practice of deliberately increasing the content of one or more micronutrients (i.e., vitamins and minerals) in food to improve the nutritional quality of the food supply and provide a public health benefit with minimal risk to health.
We took our public health officers through an intensive 2-day workshop on food fortification, safety inspection and compliance as part of our continued personnel capacity building program.
We thank our partner SANKU for facilitating the workshop and providing us with advanced testing kits that will compliment our officers' efforts in the field.
