Contemplation Insights from Page 10, Verses 65-69 ◆ Sinning that involves scheming incurs Allah’s wrath more than sinning without it (Verse 65). ◆ Allah may hasten the punishment for some sins in this world before the hereafter as a lesson for people to beware of disobeying His command. Punishments that befall others are lessons and warnings for you (Verse 66). ◆ Remember Allah’s favor and mercy upon you with Islam, and be grateful; without it, you would be among the losers in this world and the hereafter (Verse 69). Contemplation Insights from Page 11, Verses 70–76 ◆ Some hearts are harder than solid stone and do not soften to admonition or become tender to remembrance. Sins are the cause of heart hardening. Responding to divine commands only after excessive questioning can be a form of obstinacy. ◆ Spend time in solitude engaging in worship, for Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) knows what you conceal and reveal, Allah can expose hidden sins, so never regard Him as the least significant of those who see you (Verse 72). ◆ Signs and clear proofs are of no benefit if the heart is not submissive and humble before Allah. Be wary of going for long periods without softening your heart; regularly engage in deeds that soften your heart (Verse 74). ◆ The verses reveal the true nature of the Yahūd, characterized by folly, deception, and manipulation of religion. Contemplation Insights from Page 12, Verses 77–83 ◆ Remember that Allah knows what you conceal and reveal; do not be seen in your private or public life except in a good state. Remind yourself and others of the dire importance of reforming the Self (Verse 77). ✿————✦————✿ Source: Fourth Edition of Contemplating Over The Qur’ān Book One, P.g 34 | Prepared by Abū Suhailah ʿUmar Quinn | Contributors: Umm Suhailah Khadijah Taylor
