𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟴, the world unites to commemorate World Menstrual Health Hygiene Day, a Day dedicated to breaking the silence around menstruation, advocating for better access to menstrual products and education, and dismantling the stigma that still surrounds #periods in many communities.
While the global conversation often centers around adolescent girls, the reality is that menstrual health is a lifelong issue, impacting not only young girls but also perimenopausal and menopausal women - many of whom are left out of menstrual health discussions and interventions.
Serendipity Healthcare Foundation - a member organization of the Network is witnessing firsthand how deeply menstrual health intersects with broader health, education, and sanitation concerns. Through their WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) project, Serendipity Healthcare collects data from local communities that clearly shows menstrual health issues are a recurring challenge - not just for school-age girls, but also for older women.
To address this challenge, Serendipity Healthcare Foundation has expanded its menstrual health project/advocacy to serve a broader age demographic. A newly introduced component of this initiative is the distribution of a menstrual health handbook - a resource that provides comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and practical information to the female gender as well as the male gender.
Part of their mission is to building a world where periods are understood, respected, and supported, regardless of the age.
