Sickle cell, as we all know, is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide - primarily impacts the red blood cells, causing them to take on a crescent or “sickle” shape. These abnormal shaped cells can block blood flow, leading to painful episodes, organ damage, and other severe complications.
The disorder is more prevalent in regions as Sub-Saharan Africa, India, the Middle East, and parts of America. Nigeria alone accounts for a significant portion of the global sickle cell population, with thousands of children born with the disease every year.
In commemoration of this year's World Sickle Cell Day and to create more awareness, join Kathy Life Builder Foundation for “Transforming Care & Strengthening the Community.”
The Awareness outreach will feature: Free Malaria Tests | Drama & Raffle Play | Engaging Q&A Sessions
Venue: SBBC Hall, Abattoir Road, Jos.
Time: 9:00 AM
Awareness Walk: Starts at 7:30 AM
.
Kathy Life Builder Foundation, a member organization of the Network is dedicated to providing compassionate support and assistance to those in need, including the sick and vulnerable. Its mission aligns with SDGs 1, 3, 4, and 5.
