Ocean Network Express (ONE) officially announced the name of its latest newbuild vessel, ONE Singapore, on 17th June. The naming ceremony was held at the Hiroshima Shipyard of Imabari Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in Japan.
ONE Singapore is the sixth vessel in its series of 20 ammonia/methanol-ready container ships. The newly named vessel has a capacity of 13,900 TEU and is both methanol and ammonia ready. This marks ONE’s strategic efforts to decarbonize its operations and transition to clean fuel.
The containership is classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR) and sails under the flag of Singapore. Measuring a length of 336 metres, width of 51 metres, the vessel will operate on designated trade routes, enhancing ONE’s service capabilities and operational efficiency.
ONE Singapore follows the successful deployment of ONE Sparkle, the company’s first owned newbuilding, along with several sister ships already in service.
