According to H-Metro, the club was facing a crisis with several senior players either angling for exits or already gone. Veteran goalkeeper Lenon Gonese recently secured his clearance and parted ways with the club. Midfield workhorse Allan Gahadzikwa and defender Dennis Dauda have also downed tools and are reportedly finalising their moves. “It’s tough playing without pay,” said one of the affected players. “You can’t keep sacrificing when you can’t even put food on the table. We raised our voices, but sadly, we were labelled troublemakers and sidelined when money finally came.” The club, desperate to retain what remains of its squad, turned to benefactors and managed to release at least US$15,000 to settle part of its obligations.
