The suspect was intercepted at the Departure Vehicle Check Point around 3:30 PM, driving a grey Hyundai H1 that had been reported stolen in Pretoria on August 12, 2024. Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the man presented fraudulent papers in a bid to sneak the vehicle across the border. “Police immediately took the man into custody and he has been charged with possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and fraud. The vehicle has been seized for further investigation,” said Ledwaba. Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the alert officers for their sharp eye and quick action. The suspect is set to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court as investigations continue.
