*Disinformation on Balochistan and the Middle East: Pakistan's Coordinated Propaganda War on Social Media*
The Pakistani military has recruited a large number of individuals to spread false and misleading information on social media regarding Balochistan. These operatives, using fake identities and fictitious news platforms, run a round-the-clock propaganda campaign in a highly coordinated manner.
During the recent conflict between Iran and Israel, this same network has been actively spreading disinformation with two deliberate goals:
1. To exaggerate the damage inflicted on Israel , despite the lack of confirmation from Iranian media or credible sources.
2. To create the false impression that Pakistan is assisting Iran, with some even claiming that the Pakistani Air Force is secretly supporting Iranian operations.
The reality is that while Iran’s missile attacks have indeed caused damage to Israel, Israel continues to carry out precise strikes inside Iranian territory, a fact corroborated by Iranian media as well. Israel is attempting to escalate the situation to draw the United States more directly into the conflict.
At the same time, Pakistan’s Army Chief is in the United States, a clear indication that Pakistan is not supporting Iran, but rather facilitating operations against Iran. In fact, Pakistan had been informed in advance about the possibility of a joint U.S.-Israeli assault on Iran, and it agreed to assist—reportedly offering its cooperation with certain conditions, hints of which are now surfacing in the media.
Pakistan has played such a facilitative role before. Although several Pakistani intelligence operations have been foiled in Iran, a significant Pakistani presence in the country has allowed it to collect sensitive military intelligence, which has likely been passed on to the United States.
Renowned Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir has also revealed that numerous Pakistanis have worked for the Israeli Mossad under U.S. influence—with the full knowledge and support of the Pakistani state.
Now, to mislead its own citizens, particularly the Shia community, the Pakistani state is spreading the narrative that it stands with Iran and opposes the U.S. and Israel. The goal is to prevent domestic protests and manipulate public opinion. The same forces who fought America’s war in Afghanistan have historically maintained a façade of anti-American rhetoric on the streets. Saddam Hussein was portrayed as a hero, children were named after him, yet Pakistan was covertly aligned with U.S. interests—even while suppressing Baloch support for Iraq’s resistance.
Today, that same hypocrisy continues.
Do not trust any claims made by Pakistani accounts on social media without verification. Always cross-check information with neutral sources and international media.
