Parts of a Centrifugal Pump Impeller: Rotating component that adds kinetic energy to the fluid. Types: Open, semi-open, and closed. Casing: Encloses the impeller and guides the flow of fluid. Converts kinetic energy into pressure energy. Types: Volute and diffuser casing. Shaft: Connects the impeller to the motor. Transmits mechanical energy for impeller rotation. Shaft Sleeve: Cylindrical cover over the shaft. Protects the shaft from wear, corrosion, and leakage. Bearings: Support the rotating shaft. Reduce friction and allow smooth rotation. Mechanical Seal / Gland Packing: Prevent leakage of fluid along the shaft. Mechanical seals are commonly used for efficiency.
