I have received reports on the adbuction of Edward Kipchumba Terer, a medical lab technologist taken in broad daylight, by state security officers, while working in Sambalat, Kerio Valley on June 2nd.
Two weeks later, he remains missing. No communication. No charges. No accountability. This is not a personal tragedy, it is a national crisis of justice.
When a government fails to account for a citizen it has allegedly detained, it crosses from lawful authority into tyranny.
Kenya is a constitutiomal democracy; not a police state.
We uphold the rule of law or we are nothing. The government must immediately account for Mr. Terer’s whereabouts, guarantee his safety, and come clean to the public.
I stand with the people of Megun, Kapseret, and the wider Uasin Gishu County, with Edward’s family, and with every Kenyan who demands truth, dignity, and justice.
We must not be silent. We must not blink. And we will not forget.
WE DEMAND FOR EDWARD TERER.
