Speaking Jesus ✝️ Daily Word 📖

From the very beginning of the Exodus, God commanded the Israelites against having other gods—(against idols.) He knew humanity's tendency would be to place created things before the Creator, to serve and worship the things of this world instead of Him.
Centuries later, in 1 Kings 18:21, we see how far the people had strayed. They were deep into idol worship. Standing before them, the prophet Elijah made it clear: they had to choose *who* they would serve.
The same problem exists today. People are still caught between serving God and serving modern-day idols. Elijah's message stands through time: *we must choose whom we will follow and serve.*
Still today, the major problem is: *many believe they are serving God when, in reality, they are not.*
*If God is not first* in your life...
*If you do not follow* His Word and live according to it...
*If you devote more time, energy, and passion* to other worldly things than to the things of God...
...then you may be among those who *think* they serve God, while unseen idols control their lives. These idols demand your time, dictate your priorities, and become what you think you truly live for.
> The choice Elijah presented remains: *Choose today whom you will serve—the Living God or the idols of this world.*
