June 18th, 2025 MEDIA RELEASE Four Held for Firearm and Larceny Offences Four suspects were arrested in connection with firearm related and larceny offences, arising out of separate incidents which occurred this week. In the latest incident, officers of the Port of Spain Division conducted an exercise in the St. Clair district, around 3:05 pm, Tuesday 17th June, 2025, during which they stopped a white Nissan AD wagon, with three male occupants. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding one pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition. Further checks revealed that the vehicle bore false registration plates and was suspected to have been stolen. The suspects, ages 20 to 24, all of Morvant, were arrested in connection with the find. Meanwhile, in the Eastern Division, officers of the Rio Claro Police Station, conducted an exercise between 11:30 am and 3 pm, on Monday 16th June, 2025, as part of investigations into a report of Larceny. During the exercise, officers arrested a 24-year-old Rio Claro man and recovered a number of power tools which had been reported stolen. Investigations are ongoing into the two above matters.
