Zimbabwe thump Brazil in Kwibuka T20 tournament
Wicketkeeper Chiyedza Dhururu smashed a half-century to help the Zimbabwe Women's High Performance Centre bounce back to winning ways with a thumping 62 - run victory over South American guests Brazil in the Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament at Gahanga Main Oval in Kigali, Rwanda.
Dhururu's 55 from 59 balls was the toast of the Zimbabwe team's innings as they posted a huge 151 for 5 total after losing the toss and were sent in to bat first.
A quick fire 46 from just 32 balls by Loreen Tsuma as well as another 37 runs from 26 balls propelled the country's developmental side to a big score.
For Brazil, Lindsay recorded the best bowling figures of 2 for 28 while Marianne Artur and Roberta England got a wicket apiece.
In the chase, Brazil could only manage 89 for 3 in their alloted 20 overs.
Lindsay top scored with 29 runs while Laura Cardoso and Maria Luiza contributed 21 runs each.
Lindhokuhle Mabhora was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe, grabbing two wickets for 7 runs and the other wicket was a runout by Passionate Munorwei.
It was a second win of the tournament for Zimbabwe after they kicked off the tournament with a six run victory over Nigeria on Tuesday, before losing their second game against Uganda by four runs yesterday.
