*And Now In Tech News:* ICT Minister Honorable Tatenda Mavetera has called for urgent, inclusive action to harness artificial intelligence (AI) as a force for human development, warning against widening digital divides. Speaking at the launch of the UNDP 2025 Human Development Report, themed “People and Possibilities in the Age of AI”, Mavetera outlined three imperatives: making AI human-centered, closing access gaps, and building ethical partnerships. She noted that Zimbabwe is integrating AI into education and innovation, but cautioned that without deliberate policy choices, AI risks becoming a driver of inequality rather than empowerment. Mobile network operator, NetOne has reinstated its airtime credit facility, InstaCredit, allowing subscribers to borrow airtime in both ZIG and USD. The service, which had been inactive for a period, is now live again, providing much-needed relief to users who depend on airtime loans to stay connected. NetOne says the reactivation aims to bridge communication gaps by offering a fast, flexible solution for customers running low on airtime, especially during emergencies or critical moments. Zimbabwean media practitioners have issued urgent calls for regulatory frameworks to govern the use of artificial intelligence, warning of rising threats to press freedom and journalistic integrity. The demand was made during MISA Zimbabwe’s World Press Freedom Day commemorations, where journalists raised alarm over AI platforms republishing their content without credit or compensation. Concerns also centered on the spread of AI-generated misinformation and the lack of legal protections for local media. Participants called for immediate government action, investment in local AI solutions, and accelerated training to equip journalists with skills to navigate the evolving digital landscape. *Tech Tip Of The Day:* Use Canva’s AI tools or Adobe Firefly to generate visuals, logos, and social media graphics in seconds.
