Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, a medical doctor, former Central Committee member, and prominent leader of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), has been forcibly disappeared since 28 June 2009. He was abducted by the Pakistan Army from Ornach, Khuzdar, and has since remained in secret military torture cells.
As of 28 June 2025, his enforced disappearance has entered its 16th year.
The Baloch National Movement (BNM) will hold various programs to highlight his case and raise awareness at different levels. Enforced disappearances have become a systematic tool of repression used by the Pakistan Army against the Baloch national struggle. It represents one of the worst forms of collective punishment.
The Pakistani state seeks to normalize enforced disappearances and condition the Baloch nation into silent acceptance. However, this practice will never be accepted as “normal.” Enforced disappearance is a crime against humanity, and international institutions must hold Pakistan and its military accountable.
