💥 REVIVAL AND GRACE 💥
Happy Sunday beloved. Rise and Shine 🥳💃🏾
**Scripture Reading Psalm 130:6**
*"My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning."*
Waiting is one of the hardest things we do in life. Whether it's waiting for a breakthrough, healing, deliverance, or an answer to prayer, the tension between our present struggle and future hope can be overwhelming. Yet, Psalm 130:6 gives us a powerful image of what it means to wait on the Lord—with a longing deeper than the night watchman’s anticipation of the Dawn.
The psalmist compares his soul’s longing for God to the watchmen who eagerly wait for the morning. In ancient times, guards stood watch through the night, scanning the horizon for the first light of dawn. Their vigilance was marked by exhaustion, danger, and a desperate desire for relief.
Similarly, our spiritual waiting should be:
- **Eager** – Not passive, but full of faith (Psalm 27:14 – *"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."*)
- **Persistent** – Continuing even when the night seems long (Lamentations 3:25-26 – *"The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord."*)
- **Assured** – Knowing that morning *will* come (Isaiah 40:31 – *"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."*)
God’s timing is not ours. He operates in seasons (Ecclesiastes 3:1), and His delays are not denials. Waiting:
- **Builds Our Faith** – (James 1:3-4 – *"The trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."*)
- **Purifies Our Motives** – (Psalm 66:10 – *"For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried."*)
- **Prepares Us for the Blessing** – (Isaiah 64:4 – *"For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him."*)
Waiting is not being idle; it’s active trust. Here’s how we wait well:
- **Pray Without Ceasing** (1 Thessalonians 5:17) – Keep seeking God in prayer.
- **Meditate on His Promises** (Psalm 119:114 – *"Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word."*)
- **Rest in His Faithfulness** (Lamentations 3:22-23 – *"It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."*)
**The Dawn is Coming!**
Just as the watchman knows morning will break, we can be certain that God will answer. The darkest hour is just before dawn. If you’re in a season of waiting, hold on—your breakthrough is near.
*"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."* (Psalm 30:5)
Let us wait on the Lord with greater expectation than those who watch for the morning, knowing that He who promised is faithful!
**Amen.**
