💥 Revival and Grace 💥 Let Us Read: "but Samuel said, “What is this you have done?”Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle." - 1 Samuel 13:11 *Excuses Don't Justify Disobedience:* When Saul was asked by Samuel why he had done what he had done he offered excuses to Samuel (v. 11-12): He said because the people were scattering, and Samuel's delayed, and the Philistine threat was palpable. However ,Samuel rejected these outright. This teaches us that **external pressures or circumstances, however real or difficult, do not justify disobedience to a clear command of God.** Responsibility rests with the individual to obey regardless of the situation. We must learn to Trust God even when it doesn't make sense. 1 Samuel Chapter 13 serves as a stark warning against letting fear, impatience, and the pressure of circumstances override obedience to God's clear commands. It demonstrates that God values trust, patience, and adherence to His appointed ways above religious rituals performed out of expediency or anxiety. Saul's impulsive act cost him his dynasty and revealed a heart that was not fully submitted to God, paving the way for the rise of David, "a man after [God's] own heart." It's a timeless lesson on the critical importance of faith, obedience, and trusting God's timing in the face of overwhelming pressure.
