Passage:
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was one of the most influential political leaders in Pakistan's history. Born in 1928, he founded the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in 1967 with the slogan “Roti, Kapra aur Makan” (Food, Clothing, and Shelter). Bhutto served as both President (1971–1973) and Prime Minister (1973–1977) of Pakistan. He played a key role in rebuilding the country after the 1971 war, initiated Pakistan’s nuclear program, and introduced several reforms in education and land redistribution.
Bhutto was known for his charismatic leadership and his appeal to the common people. Despite his popularity, he was overthrown in a military coup led by General Zia-ul-Haq and was controversially executed in 1979. His legacy continues to influence Pakistan’s political landscape, and he is remembered as a visionary leader who stood for democracy and the rights of the poor.
