*BREAKING NEWS* | A wanted CIT suspect has been shot dead in a gunfight with KZN police in Maphumulo a short while ago. One police officer was wounded, while another sustained back injuries. Paramedics are currently at the scene and will be transporting both to hospital for further treatment. The team located two men hiding at a safehouse in northern KZN during an intelligence-driven operation last night. They allegedly came under heavy gunfire, during which the member was struck. Guns, stolen vehicles and explosives have been found at the scene, indicating the gang’s possible readiness for an upcoming heist. The outstanding suspect is still being sought. The police team, together with security industry partners, had just returned from a week-long operation in Gauteng on Sunday afternoon when they responded to the information they received regarding the latest suspects. They were in that province following leads on cash-in-transit cases.
