No wonder Paul the apostle enjoins us to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17). Prayer is the life wire of the Christian. Ruth Bell Graham said, “Pray when you feel like it, for it is sin to neglect such an opportunity. Pray when you do not feel like it, for it is dangerous to remain in such a condition.” Prayer is the greatest privilege given to mortal man by God. To fail to pray is to faint in life. To fail to pray is to give up in the battles of life. To fail to pray is to end up as a victim and casualty in life. Prayer makes available to you the help of God (Heb. 4:16), which is behind the making of a man. Prayer also delivers to you the strength and power of God. Prayer envelopes you with God's presence.
