FOUNTAIN OF KNOWLEDGE DAILY DEVOTIONAL. Friday 20th June 2025 Day 169 of the year 2025 TOPIC ARE YOU THE BEST OR A MEDIOCRE PERSONALITY? TEXT "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1). COMMENTARY The extent to which you have surrendered to God shows your proof of worship. Surrendering yourself to God is your act of worship. It is a confirmation of the Lordship of Jesus over your life. His 'rulership' over your life is the proof of your worship. When it is clear to God, you, and the devil, that there is only one person in control of your life and that person is God. The display of quality and excellence brings worship of God. Matt 5:14 says, ‘Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a Hill can not be hidden.' Also, Matt. 5:16 says, ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.' Being your best brings God worship. When you are your best in your academics, in your profession as a medical doctor, a lawyer, etc., you bring God worship. People will not make a mockery of you and your God when you are the best in what you do. Your mediocrity brings God shame, but being the best in your career and in every aspect of your life is an act of worship. Many people wonder why they do not see God at work in their lives; meanwhile, they are bringing insult and shame to Him by not being the best at what they do. People like these are the worst employees in their offices; they are the most easily 'sackable' staff because of the manifestations of mediocrity in their lives. God is saying, ‘I am not a mediocre personality, and I cannot identity with mediocrity.' Being your best is your act of worship. If you are the worst worker in your office, you will find it difficult to see God at work in your life. : Prophetic Prayer: 1. Study the lifestyle of men in the Bible like David, Joseph, Daniel, etc., who were the best in their professions and find out what they did to represent God well in their generations. 2. Emulate their lifestyle. Prophetic Prayer: Lord, help me to be the best and not a mediocre person in all I do, in Jesus' Name.
